MR Forced To Revise Proposed Name For His One Man Political Party After ‘Rogue One’ Released

Former President Mahinda Rajapakse has been forced to re-think a name for his new party after the release of the latest Star Wars movie this week which was coincidentally titled ‘Rogue One’.

Mr. Rajapakse has been plotting to make a come back into power but has been continually thwarted by those around him who keep getting charged, arrested and vilified causing him general embarrassment. Speaking to the media in order himself relevant, he said “I planned on pulling together a team of experts to work on my return to power, but as it has become evident I am surrounded by a bunch of fools. GL, Wimal, Dullas – this is what I have to work with. And my family are going to jail like Colombo Hippies go to Galle. So I thought the best course of action was to go it alone.”

“As such I needed a suitable name for the party. I thought rather that at long last, honesty might be the best policy and rather than talk about unity, freedom, peoples etc that I would come up with a name that accurately described me. However, my plans have been put into disarray after I found out that Rogue One has been used as the name of the new Star Wars movie. However, I have written to Darth Vader to find out if there is an arrangement we can come to considering we share similar values,” he added.

“In the same letter, I have also requested to use the Death Star as my party logo.”
