Ceiling Fan, Whose Son Wasn’t Admitted To School, Charged With Attempted Murder Of Minister

pt2A ceiling fan is being held in custody after attempting to murder Minister Palitha Thevarapperuma last afternoon following the news that the fan’s son was not admitted to a primary school in the Meegahathenna area.

The Fan said that he was disappointed that the minister had made a promise of supporting his voters in his local constituency by any means possible even if that meant overriding established processes and would give them preferential treatment when required. The fan said, “I don’t know why my child did not gain admission to the school but rather than find out the reasons, I decided to go to Minister Thevarapperuma who said he will help just because I had voted for him. He then went to the Principal and demanded that my son is admitted because a person’s voting pattern for the local minister should be a valid entry criteria for their children to be admitted to a school. But the Principal said he had principles.”

The Minister said, “I am on a mission to make more headlines that Mervin Silva. I managed to get suspended from Parliament about two months ago but that was the top story for only two days. I am hoping that this current stunt would result in longer and more sympathetic coverage to my plight. I forgive the fan for trying to assassinate me but I understand its plight. Luckily the damn thing didn’t turn on.”
