Leonardo DiCaprio And Kate Winslet To Reunite For Titanic II: Avant Garde (The Ship That Just Won’t Sink)

leo-368722Hollywood Superstars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet are set to reunite for the sequel to the blockbuster Titanic, when they start filming the movie ‘Avant Garde’ in early 2016. The film, based on a story written by the successive Governments of Sri Lanka from 2012 onwards, is due for release in May next year (or November next year in Sri Lankan time).

The movie will see the actors reunite with director James Cameron who has said that this movie is likely to be his most challenging. “The story of a floating armoury that may or may not contain weapons that belong to another company and involves one or more politicians is one that needs to be told on the big screen. This is a ship that has hit several icebergs but refuses to sink. It should have been launched instead of the Titanic. I am going to film this in 4D , where the audience will be doused with water and in some scenes actually feel like they are in Parliament, watching politicians shout across the aisles in one of the more tense scenes in the movie.” he said at at press conference.

DiCaprio is expected to play the parts of Minister Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe and Winslet will act as Minister Rajitha Senaratne in the film which is expected to have a run time of 3 weeks with an interval for Alerics Ice Cream after 8 days. DiCaprio is vying for his best actor Oscar and will be hoping his portrayal of the Justice Minister who may not fully operate within the law at all times, could be the role that clinches him the award.
