Morally, ethically and multiple time financial bankrupt US Presidential candidate Donald Trump’s divisive campaign sunk to a new low last evening when he rolled out a look-a-like candidate R Sirisena, mirroring the same tactic employed by former President Mahinda Rajapakse.
Trump said that he is confident his last ditch attempt to try and win the election with this move would curry favour with voters, saying “I called Mr R Sirisena and explained my problem – that I thought by not deleting any emails I could win the US Presidency. Apparently, you also have to run a country which I am not well equipped for considering even my Twitter account was taken away from me. I thought by getting someone who looks like Hilary to stand next to me I could fool some of her supporters to voting for me.”
“I didn’t think he would turn up in his Maithri garb. I also had to check if he has deleted any emails, as that would have been an embarrassment to my campaign. I don’t care how racist, sexist and corrupt my staff are as long as they don’t delete emails, I think I can convince the US electorate that I deserve to run this country. To the ground,” he added.
Mr Sirisena said, “I am on the look out for a blonde short crop wig, a red dress and some cliched quotes and I think I can make myself look just like Hilary.”
