Yoshitha Rajapakse today declined to eat from the prison canteen anymore after being informed by the head chef that some of his favourite meals including Quinoa, Avocado and Cous Cous are not available.
Mr Rajapakse, who has been remanded for a suspected late tackle on an opposite stand-off, said that he is unable to maintain his physique without a proper diet. The Head of the Prison Service today said, “We offered him our standard fare of bread, dhal and chicken curry with a helping of a humble pie for dessert but he could not stomach it for more than one meal. As such we are allowing his family to bring him food as per any other prisoner. We have been informed that tomorrow they are planning on brining sushi. His cellmate, upon hearing what sushi consists of, has offered to share some of his prison meal with Yoshitha after concerns that the former first family has run out of money to cook the fish they eat.”
“He said he read reviews of the prison restaurant on a number of food sites but he said that they didn’t live up to expectations. He is planning on leaving a negative review on the prison Facebook page” his cellmate added.
Meanwhile, it was revealed that former inmate Sajin Vaas Gunawardene also requested food to be brought from his house, but that was in addition to consuming prison food which he said could not satisfy his voracious appetite. “I have 5 meals a day and then another 3 in the night. If not I end up getting cranky and doing crooked things. “
