Celebrity Chef Marco Pierre White, who is currently visiting Sri Lanka, today said that before departing the country he intended to visit Yoshitha Rajapakse in prison, after hearing about his impressive ability to cook the books in the CSN canteen.
Mr White, who was not one of the Reservoir Dogs, has been on the island over the last fortnight as part of a culinary extravaganza and been showcasing popular British dishes including Tikka Masala, Lamb Rogan Josh and a small Aubergine. Speaking to a journalist Marco said, “Throughout this trip many people offered to cook for me and I have been fascinated with their ability to make every dish f***ing hot. However the person who impressed me the most has been the former President’s son, who I learned last night was awarded a sentence of a few days in remand for cooking the books. It’s the first person I have met to have done this although I heard of a now defunct restaurant called Golden Key which also once served up half-baked accounts. I am going to visit him tomorrow and learn how he managed to do this. I believe his sous chef, Nishantha Ranathunga will also be present.”
Marco Pierre White has been a mentor to a number of other famous chefs including Gordon Ramsey, whom he mainly thought to unnecessarily use expletives in order to provide shock value and secure more than one series of his TV shows.
Aiming to capitalise on this swearing phenomenon, Chef Publis has been working together with Pierre White during his trip on a new book called ‘Me Mona Labbakda – Cooking With Labu’ which features recipes including ‘Koheda Yanne, Malle Pol Sambol’, ‘Manyaang Manioc’ and ‘Grandmother’s Hal Garanna’.
