Former President and part-time construction engineer, Mahinda Rajapakse said that had he still been in power, a highway to Mars would have already been constructed and we would not have to wait another six years. He was responding to the statement made by Space-X Chairman Elon Musk who yesterday outlined his vision to get humans on the red planet.
Speaking from yet another podium the former President said, “I have a formidable record in building highways to faraway places during my term leading this country. My government successfully delivered roads where former regimes failed. Before the Galle highway, vehicles had to travel along the old Galle Road which is tougher than trying to navigate through an asteroid belt. But our motorway allowed hipsters to overcome the gravitational force of Barefoot more frequently and take their threads to the south of the country, sometimes just for the day.”
“As a result of being ousted, now we have to wait a minimum of six years to even begin sending people to Mars under Musk’s plan. I was advised by leading astronaut and top Bada Pissa, Chichi Rajapakse who is one of the most respected vocal artists that hasn’t been to space. We didn’t even need external funds for this as some of our money is already on Mars,” he added.
Speaking at the launch of his new venture Elon Musk said, “Mahinda Rajapakse is the true visionary when it comes to travel. I only picked up the baton when he dropped it while walking out of Temple Trees in January last year. I hope I can fulfill his vision of humans becoming interplanetary species. Failing that I’ll just try and send Basil into oblivion.”
