Security has been increased at Bandaranaike International Airport following a threat by Immigration Officers who have warned that they will stop asking unnecessary questions from travellers which will result in shorter queues and carnage to the system that is has been propped up by inefficient staff.
The Immigration Officers, who are known to send passengers into a panic in with their threatening questioning tactics which include asking locals where they live and if they know a certain relative who lives in that area, are said to have made the threat to the Aviation Authorities. A spokesman for the group said “We want to have the freedom to ask questions from people who pass through the immigration desks. Our right to information trumps their right to privacy. If they don’t want to tell us which hotel they are staying at or how they are getting home from the airport, they should not fly.”
The Ministry Of Defence said, “We have increased security at the airport by 200% and now there are 5 guards and a dog. We have also given all of them whistles and a notebook to write down the number of bags they don’t check and how many breaks they have. This plan is will definitely prevent ISIS from attacking us.”
One person who just passed through immigration said, “I have never encountered questions like that at any airport that I have travelled through. The officer who questioned me wanted to know if I knew their cousin who lives in England, if there are jobs for Immigration Officers is and if I wanted to visit his ancestral home in Ambalangoda. I’m only here because I had to fly the plane.” said the pilot.
