A study today revealed that the Daily Mirror website managed to literally cover more stories than any other website as it continues its policy to block news articles with even more overlay adverts making it the best example of user journey on a website in Sri Lanka if the objective is to make it hard as possible for readers to access the content.
Head of User Experience at the Daily Mirror said, “I don’t work here anymore. They said that I can’t handle their greed and I am too reader focused.”
The Head of Sales said, “You want a comment from me or to run a site overlay? The current campaign is finishing next Tuesday so you can have it then. If you want a comment it would be more impactful if you ran it as an overlay on the website. We can give you thousands of impressions of people who ignore your advert.”
The Editor said, “I think my job is to set the news agenda and then let it be blocked by adverts. I sometimes make the tea when our peon is on holiday.”
One reader said, “I, of course, get the latest news on the Daily Mirror website as they have the most stories. Just yesterday I was shocked to discover that Dulux has 2340 colours of paint available and also that there only 40 apartments left in that complex in Rajagiriya. I mean yesterday there were 42 remaining. I like the way the Daily Mirror keeps you abreast of these developments as they happen. It’s educational as well – yesterday I learned that a Honey and Yoghurt soap will keep my skin soft. ”
If you want to read the news on the Daily Mirror website without the adverts, we recommend you take 5 minutes of your time to install an ad blocker like https://adblockplus.org/ , which we use successfully. You can even choose which sites you want to and not to block ads from so it is not a universal blocker in case you like ads on some sites. But definitely, use it for Daily Mirror.
