With the GMOA set to launch an indefinite strike because they are threatened by newly qualified medical students from a private school which does not have any ragging or protests, the Government has asked the members of the public who fall sick during the protest to post their symptoms on Facebook as request an Amen instead.
A spokesperson for the Ministry of Health said, “Rather than try and address this issue in a timely manner we need to focus on more pressing matters like why our Minister’s car doesn’t have a massage chair option while the Minister of Highway’s vehicle does. We have requested a committee set up to investigate this immediately and also requested budget be relocated away from essential drugs and into the purchase of a new car for the Minister. In the meantime, we have allocated the peon to look into the GMOA matter.”
“On the peon’s advice, the Government is advising those members of the public who fall ill to go on Facebook and post a list of their symptoms together with a picture and request for an ‘Amen’. We know that in the current digital age that is how a lot of people get healed. Just last week there was a story of a boy who lost his vision and was healed after receiving one million amens and removing the eye mask he was wearing,” the spokesperson added.
