Daniel Craig who last evening announced his retirement having portraying 007 in the last four movies of the franchise indicated that the producers should consider Sri Lanka Central Bank Governor Arjunan Mahedra for the role, saying that while both of them made a killing from Bonds, Mahendra was the only one whose killing didn’t leave a body count.
Speaking at a press conference, Mr Criag said, “It was a great honour to have played Bond over the last few years, and while I thought made a decent effort of it having made the character more rugged, it was not until I heard the shenanigans of Mr Mahendra that I realised how one could handle a Bond in a more ruthless way. He managed to make a killing without luring women to ‘have a look at his piece’, nor requiring to drink any shaken martinis although he stir things up quite a bit. I’ve not managed to do that in any of my movies.”
“While I have been reprimanded for my actions in the past as Bond, the Governor has evaded any form of reproach for his actions despite the overwhelming evidence against him. It’s a good thing he has R watching his back which is a stronger consonant than the M and Q, I’ve been stuck with. While the odds were against me in Casino Royale, he has even managed to beat the house in the casino that is the bond market.”
Meanwhile, Mr Mahendra’s son-in-law has been shortlisted for the role of the Bond villain
