Mahinda Goes on the Offensive: “I’ll Beat Anyone”

Mahinda-Rajapaksa-Attempts-To-Attack-UPFA-SupporterThe former President last evening decided to take matters in to his own hands as he went on the offensive in an encounter with a supporter, claiming victory in the handbags that ensued as part of his election campaign.

Speaking at the rally a few moments after the scrap, MR said to the crowd “As you can see, I have just won over one supporter and I will beat everyone, including all of you, to secure victory. I still have the fight in me. So do my bodyguards but on this occasion they seemed to have lapsed in their concentration. I have asked them to stop going to Sri Lanka Cricket fielding practice and begin focusing”

A spokesperson said “Mahinda’s campaign was all about reaching out to people across the country. Considering his unpopularity no one thought someone would actually reach back so his reaction was purely instinctive. It was a fight or flight response and after his brother in law was fired from Sri Lankan Airways he has no access to the latter, so he had to resort to a bit of a fight”
