The Meteorological Department of Sri Lanka, as advised by the Government, today said that the Southern Monsoon rain was to blame for the delayed start to Yahapaalanaya, after voters began to question the disappointment of seeing nothing much done in the last few months by the newly elected members of Parliament.
The increased traffic, disruptions to watching Dialog TV and drop in sales on Ice Cream, all which have resulted from the inclement weather, have been the stumbling blocks in getting Yahapaalanaya up and running, a government spokesman said this afternoon. “We tried to get the start of Yaapalanaya to move indoors or under an umbrella but there was a leak in both the roof and the umbrella.” he added.
The government said that as soon as the rain abates that the opening ceremony would get under way but until such time, politicians would be able to continue operating their dodgy scams and acting without integrity.
