Ravi Karunanayake has said that he will continue his outstanding fumbling abilities and figuring out his way as Minister of Finance for at least another month after the Government decided to postpone the planned cabinet re-shuffle, allowing Ravi and other people unsuitable in their ministerial roles to continue to run the country.
Speaking over the phone to us, Mr Karunanayake said, “I have done a stellar job and acted like a true Sri Lanka politician. For starters, I got my brother-in-law appointed as Managing Director of Sri Lanka Insurance. My budget was also a success as I negotiated a comprehensive package, but I can’t say the same for the country’s budget which was a bit shambolic. They also tried to bring a No-Faith motion against me despite knowing that I am a practicing Roman Catholic.”
“I also conduct important meetings and host dignitaries. Just last week I was visited by the Executive Director of the IMF and rather than have a chat about the country’s financial situation, I decided to play him a nice piece of music I discovered on Spotify and we discussed that. It’s amazing how important I look sitting at the head of the table. You can watch the video below.” he added
