A war on compassion broke out on a number of social media networks as users began pointing out to those sympathising with the victims of a recent terrorist attack that there have been other terrorist attacks in the past and they should have mourn all attacks equally or they will burn in hell.
One person furiously posted the following status update on a friend’s timeline – “Do you know that over 50,000 people died in the Hiroshima Bombing – where the hell was your sympathy then?”, to which his grandson replied “Grandpa – I’m 12 years old wasn’t even born then, but if you provide me with a Facebook filter of the Japanese flag, I’ll change my profile pic. Oh and grandma says you should stop using Tinder as she’s still married to you and you’ll live together.”
Meanwhile the western media have been accused of bias reporting by placing greater emphasis on attacks that take place in and not by developed countries. A resident of Baghdad asked news outlet CNN why a recent attack on his city was not reported to which the news anchor replied “Baghdad is a real place? I thought it was a fictional town in the series Homeland.”
Meanwhile two people who have not updated their Facebook profile picture to the transparent French flag are said to be closely monitored by French Intelligence Authorities possible cyber crimes.
