A year-end DVD titled ‘Sri Lankan 2016 – 12 months Of Protests’ to be released next week will include a behind the scenes of feature that is just a picture of the Rajapakse family.
The executive producer of the DVD said, “It’s been an amazing year of protests in Sri Lanka I am glad to have been able to document and make a production out of it. There has not been a single day of the year during which a protest that did not take place. From students to veterans to civil servants to students, people have taken to the streets causing utter chaos and gain trying to gain media coverage for mostly insignificant matters. We wondered how it was possible to coordinate these protests to take place concurrently, which is when we realised that there were people behind the scenes.”
“These are people who you won’t see at any protest but they are clearly pulling the strings and encouraging protests to take place. So they aren’t visible in the main feature, but we decided to create a behind the scenes DVD extra of them. As there is no footage we will just a have fifteen minute still image of the former first family,” he added.
Meanwhile the Government has failed to stamp out a protest scheduled by the postal workers tomorrow.
