Having developed a new hirsute image, former MP Mervyn Silva is yet again attempting to re-enter politics and announced his plan to form a new party which will be modelled on the Indian BJP party and as a first step, taken to look like Indian Prime Minister Modi.
Speaking at a press conference, Mr Silva said, “I’m hoping people won’t recognise me, although I’ve got the same name and retain the same insanity I always had. This new party will not allow duty-free cars for politicians. However, this will only be implemented once all of them have imported duty-free cars for themselves and their families. We will also stop them having free food at the Parliamentary canteen between the hours of midnight and 6 am. These are concrete measures to help reduce the country’s debt pile.”
“This is my ninth attempt of trying to form a political party. I live in hope after witnessing what Trump achieved in the US. I think my fake news is still not fake enough. But believe me that my bread is real and it’s one of the best beards in the world and no one does beards better than I do,” he added.
