A number of petty thieves decided to bite the hand that feeds them a lunch packet for their efforts as a member of rent a crowd after pinching the wallets of a number of opposition Members of Parliament leaving them out of pocket last evening.
The politicians were participating in a protest against the allegation of misappropriation of funds by members of the previous government when their personal funds were misappropriated off them. One politician speaking at a news conference said, “We came here with a lovely bunch of coconuts to invoke the gods to close down the FCID. While smashing our coconuts in public, which some people who witnessed took offence against, we asked that the Lord Of Wealth intervene and save this country from good governance. But he seems to have bestowed his blessings on some pickpocketers who slipped away with our wallets. We have decided that we need to smash bananas next time.”
“When we were in Parliament we never took money directly from the public. Always indirectly. This has to be some etiquette and decorum when playing people out. I lost a valuable picture from my wallet as well. I don’t know who it was but it came with the wallet when I bought it.” he added.
It was alleged that a number of the smashed coconuts were stolen in keeping with the general theme of all round pilfering during the day.
