Following the inspiring story about the Sri Lankan who left the island as a maid and ended up setting up her own business and became an entrepreneur, it has emerged that in a similar story a banker who went to Singapore turned out being a very dubious fellow.
A spokesman for Singapore said, “We have a differing impact on different people and not all of them may turn out to be kosher. While some people have a positive experience others just decide to use the fact that they worked abroad to exploit the system. This has nothing to do with us but their individual dispositions and desire to be corrupt.”
Arjuna Mahendran said, “I didn’t do anything wrong but if I did it’s nothing to worry about. At least for me it isn’t, cause Ranil’s got my back. And other body parts. This case had been guaranteed to get stuck in the AG’s department for at least three decades. Right, I’m off to meet the PM for a festive lunch.”
The person who hired the former maid said, “This is typical of Sri Lankan maids. I sent her home for Vesak and she comes back seven years later with her own business. Not even a call as to why she was getting late. I gave her so many gifts for her family when she was leaving as well. Anyway, she can start again on Monday.”
