Over the weekend a committee appointed by the SLFP unanimously decided that only Mr Mahinda would be able to successfully ruin the country and therefore be nominated despite several alternative candidates available.
The SLFP committee said that they considered several potential jailbirds in the short list including Sajin Vass-Ill-Gained-Wealth Gunawardene, Wimal Wee-Bit –Dodgy rawansa, Bandula Guna-say-stuff –that-might-not-make-sense wardene and Keheliya Rambukwella. But the committee felt that Mr Rakapakse had displayed excellent skills in how you start off with good intentions and end up a nepotic dictator within a span of 2 terms in office and decided to put forward his nomination despite the current President’s misgivings.
Mahinda also rejects Maithree’s offer of a special office ‘Person of Distinguished Post’ due to fear of that he will be sued for false representation as he lost all distinguishness (?) and preferred the titled ‘Post Distinguished Person’
