After the disappointing exit of political star Rosy Senanayake earlier this week, bookies have suggested that Sujeewa Senasinghe is the hot favourite to take the Miss Parliament crown 2015 which is scheduled to be held later in the year.
Many voters are still reeling from the news that Rosy, despite having significant public backing and a leading light on the political stage, was axed after falling short in the keenly contested public vote. The Judges had commended her performances during the campaign period but voters decided that, rather than having someone with brains and beauty, they would prefer someone with neither, having put in Miss Weerawansa in to an early round of the competition. However the judges have decided to kick him out because because of who he is.
Instead heading in to the next round are Miss One Shot from Gampaha, Miss Raja Passe (Mother from Kurunegala, daughter from Matara), newcomer and pretty person Sujeewa Senasinghe and last time’s runner up (and by popular preferential vote), Miss Wickramasingher
This year’s rounds include a closer look at the contestant’s figures (especially the figures in their bank accounts) and the ‘What would you do if you were President’ question (Miss Wickremasinge will attempt to answer that for a record 30th time). The swimwear round has been cancelled after careful consideration of the contestants and that it may results in widespread blindness amongst the public.
