In one of the most selfless acts witnessed during the recent crisis, Sujeewa Senasinghe has decided to mark donation bags with his face in order to clearly identify the ones containing pieces of the MP, which he has donated to victims of the floods together with an individual Ambul Banana.
With only his head remaining, Mr. Senasinghe said, “The only reason I decided to mark donation bags with my face is because the sacks contain pieces of me which I have donated to those who are suffering. Some people are saying that I’ve done it for political gain, but that is preposterous. Only politicians with insecurities and those looking for publicity in a crisis would do such a shameful thing. I am above all of that. Now if the gentleman in the blue shirt would please move aside because he is blocking the camera that is filming this.”
“I ventured out to the streets in Kelaniya where water levels have still not receded and it wasn’t easy. One of the most difficult things was finding a boat big enough to carry all the film crew and camera equipment required to capture my presence at the scene. We even had to pay for special waterproof cameras for the purpose. Luckily we managed to get enough footage to release a feature length film. It’s going to be called Apo-collapse Now.”
Meanwhile, those who received a banana from the MP have asked him if he could provide fruits that float instead next time.
