UNP MP, Deputy Minister of Justice and all round pretty guy Sujeewa Senasinghe has been appointed Poster Boy for the upcoming Elections by the Commissioner after noticing his excellent skills in plastering his face all over Colombo.
Despite breaking the very rules his party frowned upon during the presidential election, the MP has taken advantage of the people’s and his short term memory by geting his supporter’s hands sticky in the wee hours of the morning.
Mr Senasinghe defended his actions saying that “These are not posters. Posters are only when you stick notices directly on to a wall. We are sticking them on top of other notices and as such, there is not contact with the wall and they are not posters. I have instructed anyone who sees a poster of me to smile when walking past”
Asked about the large cut outs, the Poster Boy said “I am a larger than life character and my marketing needs to reflect this. I won’t be cutting them out of my campaign”
The Election Commissioner was impressed by the initiative taken by Mr Senasinghe and said he hoped other politicians would also reclassify other aspects of campaigning to get around them.
