S. Thomas’ College and Isipathana College were left to rue a number of missed chances, including not turning up since 1945 and lacking initiative to meet Principle E.L. Bradby back in the day, as they succumbed to defeat in the 2015 Bradby Shield. The teams did not participate in either leg of the annual encounter owing to the agreement between two other clubs, one from the West Side and other from the Hill Side, have locked out any other teams participating.
The West Side crew took the Shield this year after being unshielded 5 years ago and thus lacking a suitable defence mechanisms from keeping the Hill Side Crew from scoring.
SHIELD is also the name of a fictional spy and counter terrorism unit. We contacted several players from the winning West Side team asking if they would be joining SHIELD but all declined to comment.
