A senior aide to the Prime Minister said that the committee appointed to allocate portfolios and finalise the Cabinet made a significant breakthrough last night, after deciding to split the Ministry Of Sports in to two; one to deal with all ball related sports and another for all non-ball sports.
Senior Government officials have been working overtime, something that is novel to them, in order to create a number of new portfolios to distribute as part of the enlarged cabinet. A spokesperson said “We promised to give people more opportunities under the new National Government and the first thing we need to do is to give these new opportunities to ourselves. It’s not been an easy task but we are confident of ensuring that we can create enough portfolios to make these politicians feel important.”
The Minster of Sports with Balls with have a larger share of the overall budget, with popular sports including cricket and rugby falling under its purview, while the Minister of Sports without Balls will have a smaller package to manage including Carom and Running Fast.
It has also been mooted that the Ministry Of Fish will be broken in to Shellfish and non-Shellfish, while in order maximise the acoustics in Parliament and ensure everyone is heard, two speakers will be installed.
